Dudeism Blog 74. Is this a Dudeism Store or a Dudeism Blog?

I've been asking myself the same...

I originally created Deadbeat Genius to sell Dudeism T-shirts and gifts. I just wanted to create a bit of ease and use some of the designs I had been playing around with. I've now changed the emphasis to my Dudeism blog Casualness Runs Deep.

And I ran Deadbeat Genius for a while as a store. I sold some stuff on Amazon. And the store sold one pair of socks here.

But I closed it down a few months after starting it. It didn't feel right. Something was out. I was also using Shopify and always had the feeling that the rent was due. You know what I mean?

But there's something that I loved about doing this. But it just wouldn't come to the table.

I had a relaunch date of 1st May 2024 but it wasn't floating.

It's August 24 and I still haven't launched. I moved it to September but...

It still didn't fit, until today, until I finally saw it...

No big revelation. I couldn't add the store because it's about the blog and not selling t-shirts. The blog comes first. The few products that I will add here are to hopefully cover the costs of the website fees which are around $400 per year, and to have some different gift ideas for dudes.

I changed the store banner and replaced it to clarify that the Dudeism blog is my priority. Not that I don't care if people order their tees and gifts here - I'm here for you dudes, but it's just a way of contributing to the continuation of this blog while getting something nice through the post in the shape of a Dudeist tee or gift.

Casualness Runs Deep

That's the name of this Dudeism blog. And unlike the countless YouTube gurus telling people to ditch their blogs and make it clear they have a store, I'm ditching the big store idea and focusing on the blog.
